Willie Lee James Jr., 53, transitioned from this life to his eternal life on Monday, January 19, 2026. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 1 pm at Unity Baptist Church. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Friday, January 30, 2026 from 3 pm to 5 pm at Griffin Mortuary. Willie Lee James Jr. “Bubba,” “Buster” was born on October 3rd, 1972 in Dallas, Texas to Willie Lee James Sr. and Lillie Mae Johnson. He was in the Job Corps of America. He was employed at Orlando’s Italian Restaurant 25+ years.

He is preceded in death by his father Willie James Sr. his stepfather Robert Johnson, his mother Lillie Mae Johnson, and one brother Zachary Miller.

He also Leaves to mourn his 7 children, Jasmine Finch, Trinity James, Richard James (Danielle), Jeremiah James, Stephan James and Zanthony James of Lubbock, TX and Darius Clark of Dallas, TX. His grandchildren Aalyiah, Za’Khani, Zayden and Jaylee Four siblings LaShall Parson (Cleveland), Robert D. Johnson (Vernice), Johnathan Johnson of Lubbock, TX and Kenneth Pitts (Danielle) of Killeen, TX. One niece Artesia Thomas of Dallas, TX and 3 nephews: DeRyan Thomas of Lubbock, TX and Kenneth Pitts and Andre Pitts of Killeen, TX and host of other relatives and friends.
