Willie Clarence Currie, 76, departed this life on Friday, September 6, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, September 20, 2024, at 1 pm at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 5pm to 7pm at Griffin Mortuary. Willie Currie was born in Houston, TX on November 20, 1947, to Charlie and Willie Currie. He had two sisters Mary Lee Fields and Charlene Evans and one brother Earl Currie. 

Willie’s parents would go on to reside in Lubbock, TX, where he would attend Lubbock grade schools. He would then go to a trade school in Lubbock where he became a welder and entered the workforce field. Wilie would meet Pearlene and to that union eleven children would come forth. Willie resided in Oklahoma till his departure. He had many hobbies with fishing and hunting being at the top of his list. Willie Clarence Currie will be missed dearly. 

Willie is preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Willie Currie, his wife Pearlene Currie, his sister Charlene Currie, and his grandson J’Shon Currie-McClain. 

Willie leaves to cherish his memory, his six daughters Willistine Currie-Williams and Denisha Currie both of Oklahoma City, Asha Currie-England of New Mexico, Kamora Currie, Cathlene Currie and Cenisha Currie all also of Oklahoma City, his five sons Marcus Currie and Marquise Currie both of Texas, Marree Currie, Little Willie Currie, Jr., and Casea Currie all of Oklahoma City, his 29 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, his sister Mary Lee Fields of Texas, his brother Earl Currie also of Texas, Aunt Rose who he loved dearly and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
