Listen to Obituary

It is written, when life begins, that it is like an open book with many blank pages. Each day as we live, our deeds are recorded page by page until we close our eyes in death and await that great day. The Homegoing Celebration Service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.

The pages of this book begin December 11, 1936, when Brother William Joe Taylor was born to Sam Taylor and Mary Robertson in Bryan, Texas.
