Virgil Dean Turner, 86, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Virgil Dean Turner was born in Floydada and grew up in Lubbock with six brothers and sisters. Seven boys and two girls. He joined the Marines at the age of 16 and became a plane captain. He later moved to California and had five beautiful children. He loved his children and provided the best any child could have ever expected from a father. In his later years he returned to Lubbock and lived out the rest of his 27 years preaching and sharing the Gospel to any and all who wanted to hear!
Virgil Dean Turner was a loving dedicated man of God who respected the word of God. He was an anointed Minister and also a Pastor of a Pentecostal Church in California.
Virgil is preceded in death by his brothers Willy Turner, Dee Turner, Bobby Turner, and Clifford “Dan” Turner.
Virgil leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Juanita Turner, his daughters Crystal Deanna Turner, his sons Chris, James, Jessie, Carl, and “Bo” Clifford Turner, his sister Laverne Bone, Lita, Casbeer, his grandchildren Johnny, Jessica, Miley, Samantha, Carlisa, Staysha, and Carl, his great grandchildren Adam and Dakota, his nieces Rhonda Shooks and Debbie Bone, his nephews Lane Turner, Michael Turner, Mark Turner, Billy, and Tony, and a host of other relatives and friends.
