Tracey Denise Snell-Jackson 65, departed this life on July 15th, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, August 1st, 2025, at 10 am at Broadway Church of Christ. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Thursday, July 31st, 2025, from 4 pm to 6 pm at Griffin Mortuary. Tracey Denise Snell-Jackson was born on February 19th, 1960, to parents Joe Earl Jr. and Mildred Snell in Pampa, TX. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Lyons chapel Baptist church, St. John Baptist church and Full Armor Ministries where she was a dedicated member of the Gospel Choir, Jr. Mission, and praise team.
Tracey was educated at Posey elementary, Alderson Junior High and Estacado High School. She continued her education at West Texas State University and received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. She then went to work at the Texas Department of Criminal Justices as a parole and hearing office until she retired in 2014 after 30 years of service. After retirement she became a permanent substitute teacher at the Byron Martin Advanced
She was the President of Lubbock MLK Committee and served as the chairperson for MLK Youth night and was a faithful member of MLK City Wide Choir for many years. Tracey married Kevin Jackson in 1995 and to that union 1 son who she loved dearly was born, Ti’Amos Isaac Jackson.
Tracey is preceded in death by her husband Kevin Jackson, her parents Joe and Mildred Snell, her grandparents O D and Orphis Hollins.
Tracey will be remembered by those who loved her most: son Ti’Amos, sister Carla, brothers Darrell (Bettie) and Doyle (Terrie) , nieces: Camille, Nicole, Tiffany (John) Pham, Heather (Adrian) Lu, nephew: Alan as well as a host of relatives, and friends.
