Tonya Faye Josey, 33, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Tonya Faye Josey was born March 24, 1990, to Louis Josey and Karen Brown. She graduated from Coronado High School, then later attended South Plains College where she studied Veterinary Medicine. Faye, as she liked to be called, enjoyed spending time with her two sons and was definitely the joy to her world.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother Ester Josey, grandfather Albert Josey, close cousin Lakisha Hastings, and cousin Ricky Mackey.

She leaves to cherish her memory; boyfriend Kentell Timmons, father Louis Josey, mother Karen Brown, grandparent Verta Wilbon (Peanut), sons Jamal Horton, Jr. and Grayson Timmons, sisters Monica Boyd (Tony Boyd), Shatondra Josey, Lenda Erwin (Jermaine), Brenda Kinney (Danny), Aicha Faye, and Artesia Thomas, nieces Nakia Boyd and Zanya Sanchez, nephews Tony Boyd, III, Zaden Boyd, Shannon Josey, Zaylen Brown, and Micheal Cyphers, special friend Bridgette Tuitt, special cousins Nidda Tyler and Nicole “Nizzo” Gocher, and a host of other relatives and friends.
