Tammy Marie Jackson, age 62, passed away peacefully in Lubbock, Texas on October 3, 2026. A Celebration of Life Services will be held Monday, October 12, 2026, at 11 am at Second Baptist Church, Lamesa. Interment will follow at Dawson County Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Sunday, October 11, 2026 from 3pm to 5pm at Griffin Mortuary. Tammy was a deeply loved wife, mother, maw maw, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth, compassion, and vibrant spirit touched everyone she met. Tammy spent her life creating a home filled with laughter, love, and unwavering support. Known for her fierce generosity and unconditional love, she had a rare gift for making those around her feel safe, valued, and bright. Her grace and inner strength served as a quiet anchor for her family, and her spirit lif up even the most ordinary moments. To know Tammy was to understand what true kindness looks like.
She leaves behind a legacy of beautiful memories and a family that will carry her in their hearts forever. She is preceded in death by her father Alvin Andrew Bailey Jenkins, her stepfather Joe Lee Butler, and her sister Cheryl Ann.
Tammy is survived by her devoted husband, Brent Jackson of Lamesa Texas, her beloved children son Courtney Smith (Jessica) of Albuquerque New Mexico, daughters Chanel Smith of Lamesa Texas, Tamica Smith (Javon) of Lubbock Texas, and Dijah Smith also of Lamesa Texas; and her cherished grandchildren Aiden, Asia, Erasmus Jr., Xaven, Orion, Briella, Zuri, Marley, Avielle, and Micari, her loving mother Etta Butler of Lamesa Texas, she is also survived by her brother Alvin Andrew Bailey Jr. (Shelia) of Fort Worth Texas, her sister Verline Jackson (Shane) of Lamesa Texas, and her brother Joe Lee Butler Jr. of Albuquerque New Mexico, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other loved ones, and lifelong friends who will miss her very single day.
