Tajha Bernard Nunley, 36 of Lubbock, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 22nd, 2025 at 1 pm at Praise Center Ministries. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Friday, November 21st, 2025, from 4 pm to 6 pm at Griffin Mortuary. Tajha's life was a shining testament to the transformative impact one person can have on those around them.

He adored and loved his daughter Lyric, and would shower Lyric with affection and attention, inspiring a deep sense of devotion in all who witnessed their bond.

His warm and caring nature earned him a special place in the hearts of family and friends, who affectionately referred to him as "Mr. Smell Good," due to his passion for layering fragrances. His impeccable sense of style and passion for jewelry and boxing made him a true original whose presence was always felt. Tajha's easy going demeanor was a breath of fresh air, making him a joy to be around.

As a gifted conversationalist, Tajha was informed and had an ability to make everyone feel at ease, fostering a sense of connection wherever he went. His presence was a guarantee of laughter and good times, a precious gift to all who knew him.

In his later years, Tajha discovered new passions for cooking and painting, mastering both with ease and inspiring others with his creativity and perseverance.

His passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt. In the words of his uncle Kendrick, "Tajha knew who he was and whom he belonged to. To know him was to love him."

Tajha's academic journey began in Lubbock, Texas, where he attended school before graduating from Monterey High in 2008. He furthered his education at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas, pursuing marine biology. From a young age, Tajha possessed an incredible wealth of knowledge about the animal kingdom, a testament to his curiosity and love of learning.His dedication to working with special needs individuals was truly inspiring, earning him the admiration of both clients and staff alike, and leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and kindness. Tajha worked tirelessly for Community Options, Daybreak, and The State School.

Tajha was preceded in death by his father, Chester Bernard Nunley, grandfathers: L.V. Faulk Sr. and Ted White; great-grandparents: Eugene and Francis Patterson, and Victeria and Alta Nunley.

Tajha's memory will live on through the countless lives he touched, a legacy of love cherished by his Mother, Stephney Patterson, Brother Tranard Nunley (Jasmayne), Niece Jakaelyn Denise Hughes, Grandmother Patricia Ann Faulk, Grandparents: Larry and Shirley Bonds, Uncles: L.V. Faulk Jr. and Kendrick Faulk, and a host of family and friends who will deeply miss him!
