Stephon Lamar Jones "Skinner"

Stephon Lamar Jones, 37, of Lubbock, TX, departed this life on Saturday, July 25, 2026. Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 11am at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 4pm to 6pm at Griffin Mortuary.

Stephon was born on April 27, 1989, to the late Tamara Brown and Sam Jones.

He attended Estacado High School. He was a loving father, son, brother, cousin, uncle, nephew and friend. He was the life of the party everywhere he went and brought out the best in those around him. He never met a stranger a day in his life. Everywhere he went he was always asking, “who you wit?” while smiling and dancing. His infectious smile and joyful personality is what will be missed the most.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tamara Brown and Sam Jones; his grandparents, Rose and Edgar Jones and Lee and Carl Brown. 

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters; Aaniyah Jones and Za’Riyah Norris; his sons Stephon Jones, Jr, Antoine Anderson, Kyng Jones and Carmelo Jones. His brothers; Samir Jones, Terrayce Johnson Jones, Christopher Jones and Cameron Devroe-Jones. His sisters; Tiara and Alaysia Jones; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
