It is with profound sadness, yet enduring hope, that we announce the passing of Sharon, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, who entered her eternal heavenly home on August 14, 2026. A Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 11 am at St. James Baptist Church. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary

Sharon walked through this life with an unshakable, radiant Christian faith. Her relationship with God was the quiet anchor of her existence, guiding every word she spoke and every action she took. She didn't just talk about faith; she lived it out daily through boundless grace, patience, and love.

A true caretaker at heart,

Sharon had a natural gift for nurturing everyone around her. Whether she was tending to her family, offering a listening ear, or caring for those in need, her presence was a safe harbor. Her spirit was remarkably gentle—she possessed that rare kind of warmth that instantly put people at ease and made everyone feel like family.

Yet, beneath her serene and gentle exterior lived a wellspring of joy. Sharon loved to laugh and had an infectious, beautiful smile that could light up the room. She was also an absolute connoisseur of dad jokes, never failing to deliver a wonderfully cheesy pun with a twinkle in her eye, or laughing the hardest at her own punchlines. That lightheartedness brought endless sunshine into the lives of those she loved.

Above all else, her greatest earthly joy was her family. She leaves behind a legacy of deep devotion:

• Her devoted husband of fourteen years, Vernon, who was the love of her life and her favorite partner in crime for sharing a laugh.
• Her cherished sons, Ryan and Jordan Vance, who were her pride and joy, and whose lives are forever shaped by her unconditional love and godly example.

While our hearts ache with the heavy burden of her absence, we take comfort in the promise of faith that she held so dear. We know she is now resting in the arms of her Savior, likely sharing a smile and a gentle joke with the angels.

"Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her." — Proverbs 31:28.

She is preceded in death by her father Rev. Richard Brown, her mother Gracie Brown, her brothers Johnnie Jenkins and Jerry Jenkins, and her sister Cynthia Butler.

She is survived by her husband Pastor Vernon Rose, her sons Ryan and wife Tonya Vance and Jordan Vance, her adopted nieces Shante’, Tommie Jean, and Tanya, her sister Allie Wilson (Pat), her grandchildren Zion, Nyah, Terence, Latoya, Tonlandis, Empryss, Bishop, and Noble, her great grandchild Promise, her nieces Randi, Ashley, and Keely, her nephew Jason, and a host of other relatives and friends.
