Sandra Jean Walker

Sandra Jean (Smith) Walker was called Home on March 27, 2024 at the age of 72. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, June 7, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Sandra was born on Saturday, October 20, 1951 in Lubbock, Texas. She was a beautiful blessing to Mom, Helen (Smith) Hill and her beloved grandparents Grandmama and Granddaddy. Even as a young girl, Sandra was a light who spread joy and happiness. She attended Dunbar High School where she met her future husband, Clarence Walker Sr. They married on August 28, 1968 and went on to have four children. In their 53 years together, they traveled the world and had many wonderful adventures. She loved singing and dancing and enjoyed singing with the ladies barbershop group, Sweet Adeline's, for many years. Sandra worked for AOPA Where she made many lifelong friends. She was a devout Christian and regularly attended Tuesday Night Bible Study. She loved animals, especially dogs, and even taught her grandpuppy to 'talk!' Sandra was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and a truer friend could not be found. Her bright, infectious smile and beautiful soul will truly be missed.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, father and grandparents.

Sandra is survived by her mother, Helen Hill; son Clarence Walker Jr.; daughters,
Regina Dues (Ozie), Renee Mink (Bob) and Sandra Denise Walker; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two grandpuppies and a host of relatives and friends.
