Robert Lee Sanders "Butch", 83, transitioned to be with tour Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 4, 2026. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, October 9, 2026, at 1 pm at One Way C.O.G.I.C. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 8, 2026 from 4pm to 6pm at Griffin Mortuary. Robert Lee Sanders “Butch” was born on March 21, 1943 to Willard and Lillie Dillard Sanders.

He is preceded in death by his parents Willard and Lillie Dillard Sanders, his grandparents Charlie and Ambry Sanders, Jimmy and Melissa Dillard, his daughters Sherry Johnson, Vanielle Wade, Candice Sanders, and Ophelia Sanders, his sisters Martha Sanders and Oleta Louise Thomas, his brothers Roy Gene Sanders, Otis Earl Sanders, and Burnett Sanders.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Daphene Sanders, his daughters Martha Avery, Theresa Baxter, Lynnette (Kevin) Anderson, Annette (Willie) Sanders, Janet Robinson, Eboney Paulhill, Brianna Sanders, and Shabria (Anthony) Martin, his sons Clarence Sanders, Robert Lamar Sanders, Todd (Crystal) Sanders, Kendrick Jefferson, and Trai Sanders, his sisters Willie Mae (Winford) Mullins, Ambry Shepherd, Lynda Drones,and Mary (Jessie) Hood, his brother Roy Sanders, his sister Stirlla Sanders, his 49 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
