Robert David Johnson

Robert David Johnon, 57, departed this life on Sunday, October 29, 2023. Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Bethel A.M.E. Church. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Griffin Mortuary from 4 to 6 p.m. Robert David Johnson was born on December 14, 1965 to Marie C. Johnson and James Walter Johnson, Sr.  David was a wonderful father, he loved working out. His mother was his best friend, they called each other faithfully. He was a very cheerful person. David would give you his all. He was a God fearing man. He loved his children, and also made everyone feel welcome. Looked forward to watching the football games and hanging out with his family and friends.  David was a hard worker and loved to play dominoes. David is preceded in death by  his father, James Walter Johnson, Sr.; sister, Vanessa Johnson; two brothers, Joseph Mark Johnson and Jerry Ray Johnson; grandson, Jesse Jamar Baker, Jr. David leaves to cherish his memory; his mother, Marie C. Johnson; daughters, Misty Cheryl Johnson, Roquel Dwainette Johnson, Zannquatia Johnson, and Hannah Jae Johnson; son, Robert David Johnson, Jr.; sisters, Barbara Johnson Sterling, Jacqueline Johnson King;and Sherie Johnson; brothers, James Walter Johnson, Jr. (Sharon), Richard Charles Johnson (Allison), Kenneth Darren Johnson, and Tommy Lee Johnson; grandchildren, Elaina, Rose, Robin, angelica, Janielle, Robert David and Michael Swain, Elexzavious and Jazza’Kayha Jones, Elayha Fannie, Ja’Layha Bozeman, Genesis Brantley, Farrian Taylor, and Za’Kyis Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
