Robert Christopher Hairston

Robert Christopher Hairston, affectionately known as Roboy, age 61, Lubbock, Texas, went home to be with the Lord at approximately 8:30p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025, after a battle with cancer at his home in Texas surrounded by his children. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, October 31, 2025, at 11 am at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.

Robert was born on December 3, 1963, in Columbus, Ohio to Cassandra May Hairston and Burl Kendricks, he was welcomed by his eldest brother Ronald, and his older sisters Cynthia, Adriene and Tina and was a big brother to Anthony and nephew Kevin. 

Robert attended Brookhaven High School. Although Robert spent most of his life in Columbus, Ohio with his many friends and family, he made the bold decision late in life to relocate to Lubbock, Texas to be with his children and grandchildren.

Robert was a friend to many and never met a stranger. He was a comedian at heart and loved to laugh and joke with his family and friends. He spent many hours making people laugh despite their circumstance and for that he was loved and cherished by many.
