Rita Jo Klemisch, known lovingly as "Momma," passed away on May 25, 2026, at the age of 67, in Lubbock, Texas. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.
Born on September 14, 1958, in Langdon, North Dakota, Rita lived a life marked by strength, independence, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved.Rita was a strong, hardworking, and fiercely independent woman who built her life on her own terms. Those who knew her understood that she was as genuine as they come, a woman with no filter who spoke her mind freely and honestly. Her candor was matched only by her deep capacity for love and care. She gave generously of herself to her family and to everyone fortunate enough to be part of her life.
Among her greatest joys were her grandchildren, who held a place of immeasurable importance in her heart. She delighted in spending time with them and cherishing every moment they shared. When she found quiet time for herself, Rita could often be found lost in the pages of a Stephen King novel or settled in to watch Judge Judy, a program she followed with loyal enthusiasm.
Rita was preceded in death by her father, Joseph A. Klemisch, and her mother, Arlene S. Klemisch.
She is survived by her three children, Richard Joseph Klemisch, Crystal Arlene Klemisch, and Christopher Joseph Klemisch; her sisters, Debbie Hazer, Joann Klemisch, Judy Davis, and Janice Johnson; and her brothers, Rickey Klemisch and Allen Klemisch. She also leaves behind a number of beloved grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends who will carry her memory forward with love.Rita's faith offered her quiet comfort throughout her life, and her family finds solace in the belief that she rests now in God's gentle care, reunited with those who went before her.The world lost a wonderful woman far before her time.
Rita Jo Klemisch will be deeply missed, but her spirit, her laughter, and her honest, loving heart will remain with all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing to everyone whose life she touched.
