Phillip Ross III

Phillip Ross III, 49, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 10:00 am at Church of the Nation. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. 

Phillip was born on June 26, 1976 to Phillip Ross Jr. and Johnnie Faye Ross Gonzales. He graduated from Monterey High School. He also attended Texas Tech University before moving to Houston Tx. and the DFW area. Phillip's home church was Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

Phillip was a loving, caring, and very outgoing person. He loved to sing, dance, and make others laugh. He lived life to the fullest. We will always love you, Sir.

He is preceded in death by his father Phillip Ross, Jr.; his mother Johnnie Ross Gonzales, both Maternal and Paternal grandparents; sister Kinelle Mcvade Ross; and nephew, Samuel "CJ" Gambles.

Phillip leaves to cherish his memory; three sisters Cheryl Gambles (John), Rhonda Ross and Lisa Hamilton Roblow; brothers David Isadora Cannon (Sel) and Christopher Cannon; one special (brousin), Steven Spence and two special brothers, Sherman Lasker and Demar Taylor. A special Aunt, Mother Mary Stiggers, His Godmother, Mother Nettie Gambles-Briscoe. Three special sisters, Lillian Porter, Sandra Bibbs, and Regina Selmon. A host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.
