Our dear mother, Peggie Shorter, sadly passed away on March 16, 2024, at the age of 79. Visitations will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1 p.m. at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Peggie was born on February 13, 1945 to Marie Johnson. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, E.D. Shorter, her oldest daughter Ruth Ann Boyd, a stepson Raymond C. Shorter, three brothers Joe Tatum, Don Wayne Johnson, and Terry Lynn Johnson, and her beloved mother

She is survived by her two daughters Terry Shorter and Tonji Shorter, her two sisters Wanda Robinson (Chris) and Joyce Harvey both of Fort Worth, TX, her brother Webster Johnson of Lubbock, TX. Peggie had a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives, and friends that she left behind.
