Nona Jean King was born on March 15, 1952 in Floydada to Luther Harris and Rosie. She went home August 26, 2026, at Plainview Healthcare surrounded by family after a long illness. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. She was the life of the party, loved to dance, and spend time with her family. She never met a stranger. She loved going to express and would be the loudest there.
She is preceded in death by her father Luther Harris, her stepfather Independence McDonald, her mother Rosie McDonald, her husbands Curtis Thomas, Willie Acy, and Jimmy King, her three brothers Billy Harris, Clyde Harris and Joe McDonald, her sister Lila Harris, her son Curtis Thomas, and her niece Alia Harris.
She is survived by her three daughters veronica Sterling (Bobby) of Lockney TX, Curtlynn Thomas of Fort Worth TX, Kacy Ellis (Bryson) of Claytonville, her son Ourran Thomas of Plainview TX, her five brothers Luther Harris (Alice) of Killeen TX, Independence McDonald and Jamie McDonald both of Plainview TX, David McDonald of Clovis N.M., and Dwyane McDonald of Kansas, her four sisters Trina McDonald of Lubbock TX, Bonita McDonald of New Jersey, Peggy Davis (Artis) and Daniella both of Plainview TX, her 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a host of uncles, aunts, other relatives, and friends.
