Negil Duran Harris "Fly"

Negil Duran Harris, 47, passed away on Sunday, July 27th, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, August 9th, 2025, at 10 am at St. John Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Friday, August 8th, 2025, from 4 pm to 6 pm at Griffin Mortuary. Negil Duran Harris was born on January 11, 1978, to Renna Harris and Harvey Wigfall. Negil attended Estacado High School. Negil worked in the Oilfield, Negil loved working on cars before he became ill, Negil loved being around family and friends.

Negil approached life with an enthusiasm that drew everyone in, always ready with a joke or a story to “brighten the mood.” Known for his boisterous humor, and an infectious laugh that could fill any room. The ability to bring joy wherever he went. Negil (Fly)was truly the life of every gathering.”

“Though our hearts are heavy with grief, comfort is taken in remembering the countless moments of joy and laughter Negil (Fly) brought into our lives. Negil (Fly) would want his life celebrated with stories and smiles as he lived it.

Negil is preceded in death by his mother, Renna Harris, grandparents Arthur Lee Harris Sr. and Margie Harris, and Thomas Wigfall and Rhodessa Wigfall. Uncles, Donald Ray Harris and Arthur Lee Harris Jr, Aunt Lois Mae Isaac.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his Bonus son Darius Shelton of Midland TX, one brother Travis Harris of Lubbock TX, one twin sister Calandra Harris of Lubbock TX, his Uncle Earl Wayne Harris of Lubbock TX, his Aunt Opal Hamiliton of Lubbock TX. A host of special nieces, nephews, Uncles, Aunts, cousins, and friends.
