Mildred Faye Lane

Mildred Faye Lane departed this life peacefully on September 21, 2026 surrounded by the love  prayers of her family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 11 am at First Baptist Church, Petersburg, TX. Interment will follow at Petersburg Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 4pm to 6pm at Griffin Mortuary.

She was born on June 5, 1939, in Tenaha, Texas, to the late James Berry Sr. and Luvenia Berry. From the very beginning, Mildred carried a gentle spirit, a kind heart, and a quiet strength that made others feel loved and cared for. Mildred was a devoted, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She gave her love freely and made every family gathering feel warm, joyful, and full of grace. Her smile could brighten a room, and her words often brought comfort when it was needed most. She loved the Lord, cherished her family, and found beauty in life's simple blessings. Cooking, gardening, helping others, and spending time with those she loved brought her great joy. 

Mildred leaves to cherish her memory her children, Zenitha Mckenezie, Brenda Berry, Riley Lane, Beverly Lane and Christy Lane. Neice/Daughter Yolanda Shedd. Her sisters Mae Rogers(Roy) and Hazel Douglas, brother Charles Berry (Linda).

She is preceded in death by her parents Luvenia Berry and James Berry, Sister Annie Faye Johnson, Brother Johnnie Ray Berry, and her daughters Barbara Berry and Mary Lane, her grandchild Sha'Zavionne La'Chez Blackwell. Special thanks to Tiffiny Walton. She had a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Though her presence will be deeply missed, her love will continue to live on through every life she touched. Her memory will remain a blessing, and her legacy of faith, kindness, and love will forever stay in our hearts.
