Maxine Simmons Robinson, 84, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, January 16, 2026 at 11 am at First Progressive Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2026 from 3 pm to 5 pm at Griffin Mortuary. Maxine Simmons Robinson was born on May 29, 1941, in Clarksville, Texas to Y.T.And Margie Simmons. Maxine showed a gentle spirit and a generous heart. She radiated warmth and love, always quick to offer prayer and comfort to those around her. Her kindness knew no boundaries.
Maxine was passionate about her baking and was a devoted pastry chef at St. Mary's Hospital for 40 years. Maxine accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a Faithful member of First Progressive Baptist Church under the Pastoral care of Bishop Deshaun Avery.Selina is survived by her loving mother, Laura Rose, her father, James Rose, and her two children, Mia and Noah. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who loved her. She will forever be remembered for her loving nature, her strength, and the positive impact she had on everyone she met.
In addition to her career and family life, Selina loved spending time with her friends and was known for her infectious laughter and joyous spirit. Whether enjoying a simple afternoon with her loved ones or volunteering at local charities, she made everyone feel special. Her memory will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
