Maurice Brown

Maurice Brown, 82, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, July 12, 2024, at 11 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, Brownfield, TX. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Brownfield, TX under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. 

Maurice Brown was born October 13, 1941, to Jeffrey W. and Doris M. Brown. Maurice was a well-loved member of the Brownfield Community. He loved to play bingo and really loved to play with his toys (scratch off tickets). He loved his family and friends very much. He worked at Thermal Fluids for 9 years, Golden Peanut Plant for 4 years, and Grady Goods Pasture for 8 years.

 Maurice is preceded in death by his sons Paul Brown and John L. Foreman, stepson Richard Demp, his parents Jeffrey W. and Doris M. Brown, the mother of his children Beulah M. Brown, his wife Sewilla Kay Brown, his siblings, Joann Brown Hopkins, Clarence W. Pitts, his twin sister Clarice M. Dickson, Howard E. Brown, Brenda F. Pugh, his son-in-law R. C. Wilborn, his uncles and aunts.

 Maurice leaves to mourn his passing, his children Deborah L. Wilborn, Kenneth D. Brown, Kenneth L. Brown, Gayla D. Brown, and Michael J. Brown, his stepchildren Sheila (Sheldon) Skinner, and Ronald (Laura) Jackson, his siblings Leola (W. L.) Smith, Dewayne Brown, Diana Reed, Eugene Brown, Gwendolyn B. Phillips, Charles (Quincy) Brown, Melvin Brown (Shadinka), Janice (Tony) Hinton, and Stacey (Rosie), his grandchildren Derek J. Foreman, De’Andrea (Anthony) Brown , Deidra Wilborn, Jonathan Wilborn, Demoderick Foreman, Quentillisha Foreman, Kimberly Foreman, Michael J. Brown, Jr., Kendra Brown, Andrea (LaCarl) Brown, Kreshia Moore, Tavist Brown, Trey E. Brown, Chris Davis, Kendrick Davis, and Kendall Brown, his 36 great-grandchildren, one special great-great grandson A’Lijah Terrel Moore, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
