Maudie Smith

Mrs. Maudie Smith, 85, passed away on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025. Celebration of Life Services will be held Friday, September 5th, 2025, at 11 am at St. Matthews Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Viewing will be held Thursday, September 4th, 2025, from 3 pm to 5 pm at Griffin Mortuary. Mrs. Maudie Smith was born on June 25th, 1940 to Alonzo Owens, Sr. and Earla Jefferson.

Mrs. Maudie is preceded in death by her father Alonzo Owens, Sr., her mother Earla Jefferson, her granddaughter Tamashea Duncan, her grandson Donnell Johnson, her brothers Alonzo Owens II, Earnest Owens, and Jack Anderson, her sisters Lonnie Jackson and Gladys Anderson.

Mrs. Maudie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters Carolyn Robinson and Sheridda Thomas, her sons Kirby Thomas (Veronica) and William Thomas (Chie), her sisters Thelma Thomas, Mary Morris, Martha LaMar and Lynda Levels, her brothers Eugene Brown, Vernon Anderson and Karl Anderson, her grandchildren TaShanda (Zuberi), Toddrick Thomas, LaToya (Trey), Cedric Humphrey (Abrisha), William Thomas, III, Wynomi, Wilchandra, Naya, Jerrandi, Jerick, and Brodrick Robinson (Kathy), thirty-two (32) great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
