Mattie Lou Haynes Wilburn

Mattie Lou Haynes Wilburn, 97, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 10 am at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Slaton, TX. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Mattie Lou Haynes Wilburn was born January 30, 1927, to Lovie Devrouex and Hugo Haynes in Milam County. Mattie accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church until her passing. 

 Mattie is preceded in death by her parents Lovie Devrouex and Hugo Haynes, her husband Noal Wilburn, her daughter Rosa Lee Wilburn Slay, her three brothers Charlie Haynes, Clarence Haynes, and Billy Rainey, and her sister Genevieve Taylor. 

Mattie was an Eastern Star. She was the Mother and oldest member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Slaton TX.

 Mattie is survived by her sister Virlean Haynes Meekins of Lubbock, TX, and a host of other relatives and friends.
