Marzellia Barnes, 67, of Lubbock, TX, departed this life on Wednesday, April 4th, 2024. His memorial service was held Saturday, April 13th, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Great Faith Community Baptist Church and a Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.

Marzellia was born on August 26th, 1956, to the late A.C. Barnes and Ruby Washington Barnes in Slaton, TX. He was born one of 12 children. He was raised in Slaton, TX, and later moved to Lubbock, TX. He was a hard worker for several years before becoming disabled. Marzellia lived successfully on Dialysis for 22 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Lee Andrew Washington, Leonard Barnes, Linell Barnes, and A.C. Barnes, and sisters Dorothy, Ruby Jewel, Erma Jean, Mary Jo, and Alberta.

Marzellia is survived by his sons, Marcus Sanders and Shawn Thomas; daughters Marquitha Barnes, Shaquitha Sanders, and Amber Joy Barnes, Michaela Thomas, Letticia Thomas and brother, Lee Roy Washington; sister, Elaine Barnes; 17 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
