Mary Antwane Porter, 45, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025. Visitations will be held Monday, November 24, 2025 from 3 pm to 5 pm at Griffin Mortuary. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Mary Antwane Porter was born on August 13, 1980, in Lockney, Texas, to Hazel Porter and Frank Thomas. She spent her childhood, adolescence, and young adult years in Dalhart, Texas, where she was lovingly raised by her step-parents, Frank Brown and Ruby Brown. Mary later relocated to Lubbock, Texas, where she met her husband, Varrick Woodall, and built a life filled with friends, colleagues, and many others who became dear to her heart.
Outgoing and charismatic, Mary was always the life of the party. Outspoken, bold, and tenacious, she lived life unapologetically on her own terms. Family, friends, and coworkers will remember her for her humor, playful spirit, strong will, and the heart of gold she shared with those she loved.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Varrick Woodall, and her stepfather, Frank Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children: Jaylyn Porter, Seth Porter, Jacquetta Porter, Tyzaeier Porter, Jah Hill, and Marcell Woodall; her beautiful grandchildren: Jaqaviion Porter, Jamarii Porter, and Dashawn Love; her mother Hazel Porter, father Frank Thomas, and stepmother Ruby Brown; her older sister Lynn Brown, younger sister Avis Nicole Birdine-Porter, brother Troy Brown; her best friend, LaShaka Bell, whom she loved and viewed as a sister and Darrell Tarrish, whom she loved and viewed as a brother. She is also survived by a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, devoted coworkers, many friends, and her loyal dog, Bubba.
Unduplicatable and deeply loved, Mary will truly be missed. The memory of her joy, her laughter, and the love she brought into this world will forever remain in our hearts.
