Lizzie Mae Ervin, 82, departed this life on Sunday, September 8, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 21. 2024 at 1 pm at Broadway Church of Christ. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held Friday, September 20, 2024, from 4pm to 6pm at Griffin Mortuary. The pages of this book began for Lizzie Mae Ervin on February 12, 1942 to L.B. and Callie Mae Reed. Lizzie “Liz” attended Dunbar Struggs. Lizzie loved her family and friends. She had a giving and protective heart. Liz enjoyed drinking her coffee, some days coffee was the drink throughout the day. Mama had some coffee Buddy’s (Aunt Doris, Aunt Betty, Jean, Joyce Ann, and the list goes on). Keeping it real social drinks as well.
Some of Lizzie’s Hobbies were, shooting pool, playing dominoes, listening to gospel music as well as her old school R&B. She was stuck on those C. Boys rather than up or down. She loved watching football, true die heart Dallas Cowboy Fans.
Every chance she got she was going to talk about her big sister, Aunt Jimmy. She loved you with all of her heart. Mama loved her big sister, Jimmie Ruth Bellamy. Lizzie assisted many as they needed her.
Lizzie is preceded in death by her parents L.B. and Callie Mae Reed, her husband Richard Ervin, Jr., grandparents Cas English and Jessie Mae Brown English, her siblings Erma Jean Reed, L.M. Reed, Charlsey Dee Reed Moore, and Alice Faye Warrior, her grandchildren KaVandra Nicole Pendgraft (Nikki), and Zanquinnette LaShea Washington (Zan), Thomas and Willie B. McCutcheon, and Ora Cary.
Lizzie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters Anita Brooks (OB) and Ladonna Pendgraft both of Lubbock, Texas, her sons Tony Hunter (Kimberly) of Round Rock, Texas and Henry Hunter (Brenda) of Lubbock, Texas, her sister Jimmy Ruth Bellamy of Bronx, New York, her 13, grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and neighbors.
