Lewis L. Love

Lewis Love, 66,  passed away on March 30, 2026. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, April 17, 2026, at 11 am at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Lewis Love began his journey of life on June 14, 1959, in Lubbock, TX to the parentage of Lewis Perry and Ocie Lee Henson. He attended public schools and graduated from Estacado High School after graduating he joined the United States Army after returning home from the military he united with Sharon Roberson and they had two sons and one daughter.

Lewis was very well known for being one of the best DJs in Lubbock and surrounding cities where he was known as DJ Bowdie. Lewis also loved to do artwork and was a skilled mechanic. He lived in Abilene, TX for 15 years and came back to Lubbock to be close to family.

Lewis is preceded in death by his parents Lewis Perry and Ocie Lee Henson, a special father LA, his wife Debra Love, his brothers Leon Love, Edgar Toliver Jr., his sisters Regina Love Turner, Dolla Love Cunningham, Emma Love Cravin, Emma Love James, and Marie Doris Robinson.

Lewis leaves to cherish his memory, his two sons Lewis Roberson and Rondale Love, his one daughter Yolanda Love, his two brothers Eddie Love and Marvin Perry, his 14 grandchildren, his one great grandchild, his brother-in-law Ray Cravin, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
