Latricia Shermone Guess, 43, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, July 24, 2026 at 1pm at First Progressive Baptist Church.Visitation will be held Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 4pm to 6pm at Griffin Mortuary. Latricia Shermone Guess was born on December 30, 1982, in Lubbock, TX to James Guess and Shirley Manuel. Shewas also lovingly raise by her stepfather, Robert Kinney. Latricia attended Estacado High School where she ok pridein being a sports’ manager and participating in all school events. She also attended South Plains College. Shawty was the light that brightened any room she walked into. She had a heart of gold and was willing to movemountains to help the people she loved. Tricia dedicated her life to raising her two boys and spent most of her time with mainly and friends. She was the give that held everybody together, the life of the party with a smile and laugh as contagious as hers, you couldn’t help but behappy, even in the darkest of days.She is preceded in death by her father James Guess, hergrandparents Tony “TR” Manuel, Mae Jewell ManuelAlvin and Ella Mae Guess, Roosevelt SR and Estelle Kinney, her brother Quincy Green her aunts Willie Manuel, Lurena Toliver Delois Guess, and Debra Nathan.
She is survived by her father Robert Kinney, her mother Shirley Manuel, godmother Sheryl Green, her brothersBrashondrick Dial and Annan Martin Jr., her sistersShatamara Kinney and Tyzhanie Kinney, her brothers Kari Williams and Kayivn Kinney, her nieces Fred TayviaTryon, Ray Zanique Devore, La’niyah and Sha’niyah Kinney, and Kamryn Williams, her sons Trey Griffin and Shaveon Shedded, her special cousins Denise Willard and Larrie Shedd, special friend Jocelyn Lusk, and a host ofother relatives and friends.
