It is said when life begins, it like an open book with many blank pages. Each day as we live our deeds are recorded page by page until we close our eyes in death and await that great getting up morning. The pages of this book began for Katherine Perry Alexander on May 29, 1935, to Robert Calloway and Louella Piles Roseberry in Longview, Texas. She spent her adolescent and teen years in Lamesa, Texas where she met her husband, Samuel Alexander. Katherine was the mother of seven children. Her greatest achievement was the day she received the Lord Jesus as her Lord and Savior. On Monday, March 13, 2023, the hands of God as the author and finisher of her faith closed the pages of her life at University Medical Center. Katherine moved to Lubbock, Texas in the late 60s and became a cook for the Carriage House for many years. She retired from wings dining hall at Reese Air Force Base for over 20 years due to declining health. Katherine was very generous with her love, support, and guidance to all who graced her presence. Another one of her greatest achievements was her ability to instill in others the importance of reaching their maximum potential in life and to live by the golden rule, while always putting her God first. Katherine attended New Zion Baptist Church where she served as the mother of the church, also she was a faithful member of several of the church weekly auxiliary.
