Karen Renae Sneed Vester

Lubbock

Karen Renae Sneed Vester departed this life at the age of 66 to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Celebration of life Service will be held Friday, March 1, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Word of Truth Church. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held thursday, February 29, 2024, at Griffin Mortuary from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. She was born to Willie and Lillie Sneed on August 12, 1957. She was raised in church at an early age. At 11, she joined and was baptized at Lyons Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev W.D. Hollings which she had rededicated her life to Christ. She received her education in the Lubbock public school system, graduating from Estacado High School in 1975. In high school she studied business education after that she went on to commercial business college. Her career started in 1974 at American State Bank. 

She continued her career doing medical billing for 28 years before retiring. In her first marriage two children were born. She was a very loving and nurturing mother who cared deeply for her family and friends. Karen’s warm heart touched the lives of everyone she encountered, and she had the ability to make people feel valued and loved. Her favorite color was blue, and she loved butterflies and shoes. In later years she married Gary Vester on August 12,2016 and gained 3 bonus children.

She is preceded in death by her parents Willie Sneed and Lillie Sneed as well as her husband Gary Vester.

She leaves to cherish her memory 2 sons, Antown Green and Torian Green, 3 bonus children Tamosha Green, Marquise Brown, and Steven Borger, goddaughter, Trishonna Crowther (Thomas) of Dallas, sister, Sharon Johnson (Jadarthia II) of Dallas, brother, Arnette Bracy of Boston, 12 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, nephew Jadarthia Johnson III of Dallas, niece Shaneice Brown (Charles) of Dallas, and a host of other close relatives and great friends. Karen will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
