Joyce Marie Smith

Joyce Marie Smith passed away Monday, June 1, 2026. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Mitchell County Cemetery, Colorado City, TX under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose smile and laugh could light up the darkest room. She was the beloved mother of three sons and the proud grandmother of six grandchildren, all of whom brought great joy to her life.

As the oldest of five sisters, Joyce was a symbol of survival. She cherished her loved ones and valued the time spent with family regardless of the occasion.

Joyce dedicated much of her working life to serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Her career reflected her caring nature and commitment to helping those in need and bettering herself. She was known for her outspokenness, determination, and the compassion she showed.

Joyce will be remembered for her loving heart, her strength, and her dedication to both family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her siblings, children, grandchildren, extended family, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her daughter Latisha Mitchell "Honorary", her sons Derrick McGuire, Rodrick Bowser, and Quincy Bowser, her sisters Georgie Green, Debra Green, Penny Green, and Loretta Green, her grandchildren Keoni Smith, Quavean Mitchell, Quindon Walker, Rosario Bowser-Smith, Sariah Bowser, and Rahdae Bowser, her nieces Octavia Green, Shativia Green, and Nosha Green, her nephews Kevin Green, Charles Green, Aaron Green, and Joshua Green, and a host of great nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She will be forever remembered; may she rest in peace.
