Josephine Kyles, 74, departed this life on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, April 7, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Church of the Nations Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Viewing will be held Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary. Josephine was born on May 25th, 1948, in Muleshoe, Texas to Don A. and Jester Pearson. Josephine attended Whiteface Public Schools. Josephine married the love of her life, Robert Kyles, Sr. on June 25th, 1966, and to that union 6 children were born. Josephine worked at Underwood's Barbecue and Texas Instruments for years. Josephine later attended school and received her C.N.A. certification and worked for West Texas Hospital, Methodist Hospital, and Covenant Hospital until she retired in 1996. Mother Kyles was a member of New Zion Baptist Church until her passing, and she was well known and called Mama by many. Josephine is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Kyles, Sr.; one son, Richard Kyles; one daughter, Patricia Taylor Saunders; her father, Don Pearson; her mother, Jester Pearson; three brothers, Leo Pearson, Johnny Pearson, and Johnnie Frank Rakestraw; two sisters, Rena Pearson and Helen Jones; two grandson, Anthony Taylor and Mercedes Patterson; one great-grandson, Shannon Craddock, III. Josephine leaves to mourn her son, Rev. Robert Kyles, Jr.; four daughters, Barbara Kyles (Micheal), Denise Kyles, Sandra Patterson (Lester), and Josie Lee Kyles (Donald); her brother, Glen Pearson; her sister, Evon Pearson; her sister-in-law, Bennie Washington; her brother-in-law, Charles Washington, Sr.; 13 grandchildren, Shenika Jones, Sh’quinta and Omar Kyles, Lester, Lesteria, Dominique, Donta Patterson, Jasmine Mccampbell, Antryon, Durriyah, Antrion Moes, Joevon Berry, and Bassey Taylor; 12 great-grandchildren, two good friends for many years, Tamara Houston and Ruth Caraway; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
