Johnny Barnes, Jr., 44, departed this life on Wednesday, September 13th, 2023. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held Friday, September 22nd, 2023, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary. Johnny Barnes, Jr. was born on December 14th, 1978, in Lubbock, TX to Linda Brown and Johnny Barnes, Sr. He lived in Lubbock his whole life. He was the Abraham of our generation who had a very generous heart. He helped all in need, he was big on family and respect. He especially loved the kids. One of the most unique things about Johnny he never lost an argument, and he will be truly missed by all. Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Linda Brown and Johnny Barnes, Sr. Johnny leaves behind to cherish his memory; his wife, Regina Kemp; sisters, Sandra Young and Tasha Kennard; brothers, Marquis Brown and Kim Carter; daughters, Zemodie Hood and Allencia Hurd; grandchildren, Khloe and Cyrinity; nieces, Marquisha, Quisie, Alex, Alexia, Makirriea, Shun’Quise, Jazymn, Kimberly, Kamaria, and Kameren; nephews, Tavon, Xavier Quan, Kevanundre, and JaKobe; a host of other relatives and friends.
