Joe Roy Roberts Jr., loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, transitioned peacefully from this life to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the age of 77. Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 11 am at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Slaton. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Monday, April 20, 2026, from 5pm to 7pm at Griffin Mortuary.
With love, honor, and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the life and legacy of Joe Roy Roberts Jr. Born on February 6, 1949, to Fannie Bell Roberts and Joe Roy Roberts Sr. He was a man whose presence could light up any room-a true fun-loving jokester who brought laughter, warmth, and joy to everyone blessed to know him.
Joe had a passion for life and the simple joys that came with it. He loved BBQing, welding, fishing, and dancing and it's only right to say, he made the best BBQ hands down.
Joc was a man of unwavering faith, immense kindness, and an infectious sense of humor. He was a pillar of strength for his family and a guiding light in the community. Joe was known for his love of barbecuing, his generous and loving spirit, and his ability to bring joy to everyone he met. He dedicated his life to his family , sharing his warmth and wisdom with all who knew him.
He never missed a chance to bring smiles and laughter to those around him. Whether he was telling jokes, sharing stories, or simply enjoying time with family, Joe created moments that will be treasured forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fannie Bell Roberts and Joe Roy Roberts Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved spouse Beverly Roberts, his children Diana Roberts, Janet Roberts-Lyons, Kevin Canady, Tamika Felton, and Pamela. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Jentry Roberts, Ashley Daniels, Rakim Roberts, Edtwan Canady, Chantles Roberts, Deyzha, ShaQuaila Felton, and Taliea Mawell. He is also remembered by his siblings, Roy Lee Robert Sr., Lonell Roberts Sr., Johnny Roberts, Harry Roberts, Minnie Faye Roberts, Louise Vanhousen, Mickey Jean Roberts, and Edward Roberts, along with a host of extended family and loved ones.
