Jo A. Dickens, 85, passed away on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, May 9th, 2025, at 11 a.m. at First Progressive Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 8th, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary. Jo A. Dickens was born on December 11th, 1939, to Joe Dickens and Vera Hurst.

Jo loved her family and friends. She will be truly missed.

Jo is preceded in death by her father Joe Dickens, her mother Vera Hurst, her son James G. Williams, her brothers Allen Johnson, Jack Johnson, and George Dickens, and her daughter-in-law Jessie Joyner.

Jo leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons Donny Dickens, Herman Dickens, and Timothy S. Dickens, her grandchildren Donny Dickens, Jr., Coal Dickens, Chondra Joyner, Zana Reep, her five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
