Jimmy Lee Roberts, 70, passed away on Sunday, September 7th, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 20th, 2025, at 1 pm at First Baptist Church, Hale Center. Interment will follow at Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19th, 2025 from 3 pm to 5 pm at Griffin Mortuary. On May 13,1955 Jimmy Lee Roberts was born and raised to the parentage of Mr L.D and Alvessie (Young) Roberts in Hale Center, TX. Jimmy's enthusiasm for automotive work, sparked by his father at a very young age and shared with his five brothers, became a lifelong passion. After attending Hale Center High, he served honorably in the United States Navy from 1972 to 1974. Following his military service, he obtained his truck driver's license and became an over-the-road long-haul truck driver; he also worked as a general laborer before retiring to Hale Center, Texas, where he spent his later years with his wife Norma Jean Johnson.
He is preceded in death by his mom Alvessie (Young) Roberts, his dad Mr. L.D Roberts, his daughter Latricia Roberts, his brothers Tommy Roberts, Melvin Roberts, Henry Roberts, & L.D. Roberts, his sisters Velma Roberts & Opal Roberts
Survived by his wife Norma Johnson, Hale Center, TX, his daughters Celeste Simon and Nakia Roberts, Fort Worth, TX, his brother Milton Roberts, Lubbock TX, his sisters and brothers in Love Dorris Wilson, Marilyn Johnson, Patricia Johnson, Vanessa James, Ocie Johnson, W.H. Johnson, and Lee Briggs, 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
