Jesse Turman

Jesse “Adell” Turman, 79, passed away Monday, May 20th, 2024, at his home. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Friday, May 31, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary. Jesse was born in Dallas, Texas to Earnest Turman, Jr. and Martha Ella Turman-King on February 2nd, 1945. He attended and graduated from Dunbar High School. Jesse was an Air Force Veteran. He worked at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company and at the cotton gin.

Jesse married Ozell Cole in 1968. He loved to watch wrestling and westerns.

Jesse is preceded in death by his parents Earnest Truman, Jr. and Martha Ella Truman-King, his son Jesse Earl Turman, and brother Earnest Turman, III.

Jesse is survived by his wife Ozelle Cole Turman, his daughter Sheila Turman Carson (Glenn), his grandson DeVante Johnson, his brother Leon Turman, his sister Martha Kay Turman, his great-granddaughters Z’Miya Johnson and Elliana Johnson, a host of other relatives and friends.
