Jamye L. Hill, 61, passed away on Friday, April 25th, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, May 17th, 2025, at 11 am at Agape Temple C.O.G.I.C. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary, Visitation will be held Friday, May 16th, 2025, from 4p.m to 6 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary. Jamye Hill was born on July 19th, 1963, in Bryan, TX, to Jacquelyn Hill and James Hill. Jamye spent her early years in Watts, California, before relocating to Lubbock in 2007. A graduate of El Camino College, Jamye earned her certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and proudly served her community for many years as a paramedic. Her true calling, however, was ministering to others. She was a devoted woman of faith, who loved the Lord deeply and never missed an opportunity to share the gospel.
Jamye hosted bible studies in her home, opening doors to the community and offering both spiritual and physical nourishment to all who came. She had a heart for the homeless and made it her mission to feed and uplift those in need.
Jamye was the loving mother of seven children and the proud grandmother of twenty-one grandchildren. Her legacy of faith, compassion, and strength will live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her.
Jamye is preceded in death by her mother Jacquelyn Hill and her brother Darnell Thomas.
Jamye is survived by. Her older brother Anthony Thomas, sisters Carol Thoms and Bridgette Chambers, her seven children David George, Jr. (Sharell), Porsha George, Jamal George, Dominique Hill, Demetrice George, Jeremy George (Anissa), and Whitley Woods (Xavier), her twenty-one grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
