Jacqueline Rene Chew Adjepong, lovingly known to family and friends as Jackie, and affectionately called “Juicy” by some, was born on April 2, 1965, in Slaton, Texas, and peacefully passed away on October 16, 2025, at the age of 60. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, October 25th, 2025, at 1pm at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Slaton. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Friday, October 24th, 2025, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Griffin Mortuary.

Jackie was the third child born to Bobbie Chew, who preceded her in death. She was a proud graduate of Hobbs High School, Class of 1983, where her bright spirit and joyful personality began to shine — a light that continued to bless all who knew her throughout her life. Jackie made her home in Slaton, Texas, where she was known for her great sense of humor, her love for family, and her incredible cooking and baking. She had a gift for making people laugh and was known for cracking jokes with anyone around. There was never a dull moment when Jackie was near.

Jackie faithfully attended First Church of God in Christ in Slaton, Texas, under the leadership of Pastor Michael Session. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, shaping the love and kindness she so freely shared with others. She was also a proud Dallas Cowboys fan, cheering her team on with passion and pride every season. Jackie dedicated her life to caring for her family, always putting others before herself. Whether it was supporting her siblings, spoiling her nieces and nephews, or encouraging her children and grandchildren, she led with love, laughter, and faith.

Jackie leaves to cherish her memory her children: Earl Washington, Terrannette Montra Mims, and Michael Dewayne Williams (Kerri); her grandchildren: Earlveontrae Washington, Raejahnae Mitchell, Zakavian Washington, Ja’Myka Taylor, Kelvin Barber, Kabrea Williams, Mayson Williams; and great grandson, Dalveon Rhodes. She is also survived by her siblings: Nedra Chew, Louis Chew (Sonya), Gregory Chew (Lanette), Theado “Michael” Higgins, and her sister-in-law, Coretta Wilborn. Jackie also leaves behind her loving aunt and uncle, Lucy and Fred White, along with cousins who were like sisters — Paula Chew Norris, Rosalind Chew, and Pamela Chew Nealey — and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who adored her deeply. She also leaves behind her goddaughter, J’Zari Wilborn, her “near-and-dear” friends Shirley Mask, Penny White, and Yuvonda Roberson all of whom held very special places in her heart.

Jackie was preceded in death by her mother, Bobbie Chew, and her brothers, Joe Wilborn, Darrick Wilborn, and Willie Mims. Jackie’s laughter, love, and light will forever echo in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Her legacy of strength, humor, and family devotion will continue to live on through her children and grandchildren, and in the countless lives she brightened along the way. Whether through a warm smile, a playful joke, or a word of encouragement, Jackie had a way of making everyone feel seen, valued, and loved.

Her presence brought joy, her spirit brought comfort, and her laughter was a gift that will never fade from memory. Though she may no longer walk beside us, the ripple of her kindness and the warmth of her love will continue to touch generations to come.

“Her laughter filled every room she entered, her kindness touched every heart she met, and her memory will forever be a blessing.”
