Lubbock

Ida Marie Austin, 82, left us on February 13th, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Viewing will be held Monday, February 19, 2024 at Griffin Mortuary from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Ida Marie Austin born in Lubbock, TX, February 18th, 1941 to Ernest and Erie Lee Bolden. She was the oldest of their eight children. Ida graduated from Dunbar High School and held various positions at the US Postal Service. Retiring as an Express Mail Supervisor in Lubbock. She continued on to become an entrepreneur owning Austin Cleaning Services. 

She is preceded in death by her siblings Inez, Ernest Jr., Johnlee, Wayne, and Johnell Bolden.

She leaves to cherish her five children Charles R. Bolden, Lee Bolden, Thomas Bolden, and Elizabeth Austin all of Lubbock, TX, Larry Bolden of Abilene, TX, her siblings Irene Burks of Denver, CO, Rick Bolden of Portland, OR, and Kenneth Bolden of Lubbock, TX, as well as her stepsons Timothy Austin and Wayne Austin both of Dallas, TX, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
