Henry Lewis Luckey

Henry "Lewis" Luckey, 85, of Lubbock, Texas passed away on July 18, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, July 28th, 2025 at 11 am at Community Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Sunday, July 27th, 2025 from 2 p.m to 4 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary. He was born on June 1, 1940 in Granger, TX to the parentage of Henry Luckey and Katherine Thompson Luckey. He later moved to Lubbock, TX where he met and married the former Evelyn Foley. Lewis joined the Army in 1962 and became a proud lifelong soldier at heart. He owned and operated Luckey Brothers Texaco gas station with his brother, Richard.

Lewis was a man of honor that valued truth and justice. His life was at its best when he was fishing, traveling, dressed in a new suit or spending time with his grandkids. Lewis believed in family and resolved to live a life from the perspective of a favorite scripture, Proverbs 13:22 that states, "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children." He adored his grandchildren and poured into them in every way. Lewis also loved the Lord and serving in his church as "the eldest deacon."He was a faithful and dedicated servant until his health no longer allowed.

Awaiting Lewis' arrival in Glory are his parents, Henry and Katherine Luckey, wife, Evelyn Luckey, brother, Richard Luckey, sisters, Rita Luckey and Alice Williams. Lewis is survived by his daughter, Sherry (Jerry) Gray of Atlanta, GA, sons, Kenneth (Alicia) Luckey of Fontana, CA, Charles (Melanie) Luckey, Greg (Bernadette) Luckey both of Lubbock, TX; grandsons, Jeremy and Jayden Gray, Kenneth Luckey Jr., Jeremiah Thompson, granddaughters Kanani Luckey, Krystle Luckey Horton, LaMeshia and Daphne Kinney, Eshnique Kinney Henderson, and Ashlei Stevenson, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
