Heather Lucille Thomas

Heather Lucille Thomas, 53, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024. Visitations will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Heather Lucille Thomas was born on February 20, 1971, to John Buchanan and Una Marie Simms. She graduated from Dunbar High School in 1989. Later, she attended Wayland Baptist University, and she was only 20 hours from completing a degree in psychology.

She worked at AT&T until she became disabled. Heather lived in Minnesota, Dallas, and Lubbock. She was the proud mother of two sons.

Heather is preceded in death by her parents, grandmothers Lucille Buckhannon and Rosie Dell Elliott, sisters Jackolyn Thomas, Lorna Whaley, and Jasmine Buckhannon, and brothers Rodney Thomas and Shawn Thompson

Heather leaves to cherish her memory, her sons Julius Stigger and Jalon Thomas, her siblings Yolanda Adair, John Wright, Willie Briggs, Willie Wright, Lillie Wright, Michael Buckhannon, Jodi Maria Buckhannon, Leona Thomas, and Shirley Downey Lee, her life partner Brittny Williams Tobe, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
