Glenn Edwin Davis, 73, departed this life on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 11 am at Greater St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Griffin Mortuary from 3 pm to 6 pm. Glenn Edwin Davis was born at Chatman Hospital on September 10, 1951to Earnest Davis, Sr, and Ruby Lee Watson-Davis. He was raised in Lubbock, Texas and attended and graduated from Dunbar High School in 1971. Glenn (Day) was very athletic in several sports playing football, basketball and baseball. He attended college initially at Tarleton State in Stephenville, Texas and then Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma playing football at both and graduating from Cameron University. Glenn worked at Texas Instruments as a supervisor, followed by Pollard Paper Company as a driver. Growing up Glenn worked as a caddy, which led to his love of golf. He became a member of Kangol Golf Association.

Glenn was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Davis, Sr; three brothers, Byron, Wayne and Clark Davis; Four sisters, Donna Grant, Norma Robinson, Marsha Davis and Gwendolyn Davis-Joiner.

Glenn leaves to cherish his memory; four daughters all of Lubbock, Texas, Mish Nicole Manahan, Tawana (Rodney), Amy (Harvey), Brandy and one son, Glenn Davis, Jr (Brittany); twelve grandchildren, Patrea, Micah, David, Kalill, Zayon, Lyfe, Chance, Chyna, Brayden, Saniya. Nyela and Jailia; four great grandchildren, Grayson, Kaiden, Lillian and Kaidence. His mother, Ruby Lee Watson-Davis; three sisters, Brenda Hunter (Henry) of Lubbock, Texas, Beverly Lester (James) of Arlington, Texas, Ronda Davis (Shannon) of Crowley, Texas; three brothers, Earnest Davis, Jr of Arlington, Texas, James and Preston Davis of Lubbock, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
