71, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023. Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 11 a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Viewing will be held Monday, March 27, 2023, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary. Glenda Faye Hines was born to Cleo and Clara Lawson on December 17, 1951 in Bryant, Texas. Glenda graduated from Dunbar High School and went on to hold several jobs, retiring from the City of Lubbock. Glenda was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she remainsd a member until she passed. Her favorite hobby was going to the casino with friends. Glenda enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren games and activities. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Clara Lawson, middle sister, Shirley Williams; mother-in-law, Gladys, and special friend Ricky Floyd. She leaves to cherish her memory; her husband, Billy Hines, her daughter, Freta Sims (Earl Wilson); her sons, Teddy sims (Celi) and Toby Sims; stepchildren, Billy Joe Hines, Jr., Ronald, and Rolanda; her sister, Bessie Lewis(Rodney); her brothers, Henry Eddington (Cecil) and Cleo Lawson (Terry); grandchildren, Akeisha Sims (Freddy), Stoney Sims, Tobi Sims, Dej, Teddy A. Sims, Sevin Sims, and Sitney Sims; great-grandchildren, Tumbleweed, Chris, Errian Gatewood, Aaren Sims, Ze'Courian Brantley, Kashius Robinson, and Armanii Sims; bonus daughters, Stephanie, Sharonda, and Jessica; a host of other relatives and friends.
