Gary Don Kinney

Gary Don Kinney, 58, departed this life on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Ford Memorial. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Viewing will be held Friday, July 28, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary. On June 27, 1965, was born to Roosevelt, Sr. and Estelle Kinney. He was the 8th child out of 9 children. He lived in Lubbock, TX his entire life and attended Estacado High School. In 1987, he met Lucy Medrano, where they had three sons. Gary worked at Shamrock Chevrolet for many years. Gary loved the Dallas Cowboys, fishing, fixing up his man cave, meeting new people, working on his Cadillac ride, and cruise in the neighborhood, also like shooting hoops and dressing GQ. Gary enjoyed being with his grandkids, hanging out with family and siblings, listening to music. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt, Sr. and Estelle Kinney; his sister, Deborah A. Nathan; three brothers, Roosevelt Kinney, Jr., Danny Kinney, and Michael Kinney; and granddaughter, Arianna Z. Kinney. He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Lucy Kinney; his three sons, Gary, Marquis (JaCoyia), and Micheal (Tatenishia); his two sisters, Yvonne Kinney and Laura Kinney; his two brothers, Jerry Kinney, Sr. and Robert Earl Kinney; his grandchildren, KD, Mylan, Jaxon, MaKai, Kyra, Averi, Brooklyn, Maiya, and Maomi; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
