Mrs. Freddie Mae Johnson, 79, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on September 11, 2026. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 11 am at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Mrs. Freddie Mae Johnson was born on April 12, 1947, in Lubbock to the parentage of Mr. Fred White Jr. and Mrs. Katherine Thomas-White. Freddie attended Lubbock public schools and graduated from Lubbock Dunbar High School in 1965. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful and active member of St. Luke, where she served on the Usher Board and in the Mission Department until her health began to decline. Freddie was employed by the Lubbock Independent School District for more than 30 years. Freddie was a one-of-a-kind mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved spending time with her family and was known as one of the best cooks in the family. Freddie was also a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and a true football fanatic. 

Freddie was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Katherine Thomas-White; her father, Mr. Fred White Jr.; her daughters, Jeana D. White and Tara A. Johnson; her son, Tyrone Johnson; her sister, Petty D. White; and her brothers, Don Allen, Joe C. Pope, Alvin E. White Sr., and David B. White.

 She leaves to cherish her loving memory her grandchildren, Tony White, Kasheena White, Taricea Monae Johnson, and Jerrica McKenzie; her great-grandchildren, Roderick Perry Jr., Jer’Rhiaya Perry, Rh’Janee Perry, Cyrah Barlow, and Cyrahian Goucher; her sisters, Janice L. Ross and Kathleen McCullough; her brother, Jeff White (Yolonda); her special friends, Hazel Washington and Christine Jackson; and a host of other loving family members and friends.
