Listen to Obituary

On June 20, 2026, Fred Fulsom passed away peacefully in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 67. A viewing will be held Friday, July 3, 2026 from 3 pm to 5 pm at Griffin Mortuary. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Born on April 22, 1959, to Clarence and Grace Fulsom, Fred’s life was a testament to the values of family and unwavering strength. Fred attended Dunbar High School before graduating from Estacado High School in 1977, where he served as a trainer. He was known for his encouragement and support of fellow students and athletes, a spirit of service that remained central throughout his life.

After high school, Fred began his career with Texas Instruments, where he was admired for his dedication and the strong bonds he formed with colleagues. He later moved to Seattle, Washington, where he worked at Boeing and contributed to the advancement of aviation.

Fred returned to Lubbock, devoting himself to caring for his parents. This act of love and responsibility was a true reflection of his deep devotion to family.

Fred’s kindness, resilience, and steadfast commitment to those he loved will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Fulsom; mother, Grace Fulsom; sister, Shelia Fulsom; and nephews, Kirvyn Alexander and Jalen Smith.

He is survived by his sisters, Teresa Armstrong, Yvonda White, and Pauline Fulsom; his brothers, Clarence and Jerome Fulsom; his children, Marlon Fulsom, Markeisha Kinney, and Lathrill Fulsom; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his special friend, Lisa Leaks, who will continue to honor his memory. Fred will be especially remembered for his favorite saying, "baadam." No matter the circumstances, whenever life got tough, he could always be heard saying it—bringing a smile or laughter to those around him. It is said that even as he crossed over, his eyes closed and his final words were, fittingly, "baadam."
