Evelyn was born in Bryan, Texas on April 11, 1955 , but went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. Celebration of LIfe Service will be held Friday, July 26, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Church of the Nations. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Griffin Mortuary from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Evelyn became a Christian at an early age. She attended New Trinity Baptist Church and Pilgrim Baptist. Evelyn graduated from Morton high School in 11974. She went to South Plains College and IBC. She worked at Texas Instruments and Lubbock State School, Bet Pkagie, Calab Inc, Direct home Healthcare, and Girling Home Healthcare.
Evelyn was known to be a hard worker who loved her family and friends. She was there for them no matter what. She always had a smile and a positive attitude. She will greatly be missed, but never forgotten.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents Willie B. Holland and Georgia Ann Holland, her son Curtis Lamonta Holland, her brother Willie B. Holland, Jr., her sisters Vera Jeane Holland and Veloria Holland, her brothers-in-law Charles Henry and David Dancer.
Evelyn leaves to cherish her memory, her son Alfonso Holland, her daughter LaTonya Holland, her granddaughter Aniyah Lyons, her son-in-law Anson Lyons, honorary grandchildren Taylon Lawson and Brooklyn Lawson, her sisters Rose Young (Lee), Amy Henry, and Mary Dancer all of Dallas, TX, Barbara Eskhat of Lubbock, TX, and Sherry Coleman of Dallas, TX, her brothers W. T. Holland, Larry Holland, and Gary Holland all of Lubbock, TX, an aunt, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
