Edwin Charles Cyphers

Edwin Charles Cyphers, 77, passed away on Monday, June 30th, 2025. Celebration of lIfe Service will be held Friday, July 25th, 2025 at 10 a.m. at the Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held thursday, july 24th, 2025 from 4 pm to 6 pm at Griffin Mortuary. was born on May 15th, 1948 to Curtis Cyphers and Mary Lester. He graduated from Dunbar High School in 1967. He was in the United States Army from March 1968 through March 1971. He was employed at the Lubbock State School from 1974-1998.

Edwin’s hobbies were raising pigeons, a developer of customized water guns, water sprinklers, and domino markers.

Edwin is preceded in death by his parents Curtis Cyphers and Mary Lester, his grandparents Earnest and Lillie Mae Hicks, his daughter Stacy Cyphers, his sisters Linda Hill, Elaine Perry, and Mary Ann Cyphers, his brother Hebert White.

Edwin leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children Elzoria Walker, Stephanie (Quentin) Moses, Sabrina Cyphers, JJ Taylor, Tatanisha Jones, Andrea (Lewis) Blake, Tamika Waites, Misha Cyphers, Andrew Lee Cyphers, Edwin (Ivy) Cyphers, Jr., Brandon Patterson, and Nehemiah Cyphers, his sisters Jeanne Lester, Turee Toro, and Sandra Cyphers, his brothers Curtis Cyphers, Jr., Michael Cyphers, Mario Cyphers, and Jaime Edwards Cyphers, 36 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
